WHAT ARE DENTURES?

Dentures are removable dental appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore functionality, aesthetics, and overall oral health; they can be ‘partial’ or ‘full’. This is dependent on the number of teeth that need replacing.

They are crafted from durable materials like acrylic or metal and can be customised to match the appearance of your natural teeth. They can help improve chewing, speaking, and the appearance of a person’s smile while supporting facial structures.

What does it involve ?

This treatment involves several steps. Once your dentist has conducted a thorough examination of your mouth, and evaluated your oral health needs, they will discuss the best type of denture for your needs.

Precise impressions mould of your mouth are taken to create a denture that fits perfectly and looks natural. A wax model may also be used to make precise details of your bite, once these steps have been followed the dental laboratory technician will make a trial set of dentures for you to try in these are usually made from wax to give you an idea of what the finished dentures will look like, adjustments can be made at this stage.

Final Placement: Once your custom denture is ready, we’ll make final adjustments and provide guidance on care and maintenance.

Once these steps have been taken, approval for the final denture can be made, the dentist will ensure the final dentures fit well and are comfortable. Some adjustments may be necessary once you begin to wear them.

For care and maintenance of your dentures and your oral health you will be given instructions for daily cleaning, regular dental checks and maintaining good oral health.

Our experienced dental team works closely with you to ensure your new dentures meet your expectations and enhance your quality of life. If you’re ready to explore the benefits of dentures, contact Smile Together Keast Mews today.
